How Did the August Challenge Go?

I had meaning to write about this at the beginning of the month but got so focused on the new stuff that it was an after thought of writing the followup. I am going to write some of it now and finish it up later in the week.

I’ll start off by saying that it was exactly what I needed. I had some victories, but plenty of frustrating moments that it taught me about myself and the industry that I want to make a living in.

What Did I Do?

I did a couple of projects to help build my portfolio in the commercial and head shot industry of photography. One of the assignments was taking photographs of signature teas at a local tea house. Another one was an editorial shoot and then corporate photographs. I also started my commercial photography project debut, but stopped the progress of that project because it was going to take me tons of time to get the results that I wanted out of it and decided to go ahead and finish that out through the remainder of the year.

Was it Successful?

Sure. It was. Even with the not-so-positive results all of it allowed me to change plenty the way that my business operates now. If I didn’t struggle I don’t think I would have changed my crappy ways and now I’m in a better place because of it.

I will let you know more in the next couple of days.
